My Search for Bounce
My hair has undergone a pretty crazy journey. De Bernardis Salon Once upon a time, it was thick and frizzy…and I wanted nothing more than to tame it. (Honestly, that’s how I still feel about the roots.) But the bulk of my hair – thermal reconditioned – is sleek, smooth…and can use a little bit of body sometimes. I am always looking for a way to do that that will agree with all of my various needs – manic hair that I have – and I got some great tips from Adrian De Berardinis, salon owner and star stylist of De Berardinis Salon. Adrian styles the tresses of Heather Graham, Isabella Rossellini and Mariska Hargitay, so I had faith I was in good hands. Some ideas I came away with: • The messy bun is the best trick ever!!! Turn a ponytail into a runway ready chignon by twisting the ponytail and wrapping it around itself, securing it with 5 – 7 bobby pins. It’s fashionable, easy and sexy for day or night. • To create full, voluminous looks for those with fine hair, tease at the root to give the illusion of more hair and then spray with a hairspray to lock it in. • To rejuvenate a bouncy blow out and keep it looking sexy…flip your head over and fluff that blow out at the root with your fingers…you need to get some air into it if it’s looking flat. Then flip back and place out of place hairs back in their place.
